Bob's Práctica - Tonight in Chester!
Bob will be running a Práctica tonight (30th June 2008) in Chester from 7:30. A great opportunity to dance and practice. Next week Sharon will be starting to teach a new term of classes.

Anthony & Alex are going on an Adventure!
On the 27th of June, 2008, the new Mr & Mrs Davis will be jetting off to the Americas and elsewhere for an extended period that might last a good few months/years/eternity. There are so many new adventures to experience and life is for living.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported us and our classes. The Chester classes will carry on though - with a new teacher.

New Classes in Altrincham!
From the 20th May 2008 we shall be starting a Beginners Class and Práctica every Tuesday in Altrincham at the H. Nicholsons Restaurant, Bar and Grill, 46 Railway Street, Altrincham WA14 2RE. There is loads of free parking around the back. PDF FLYER HERE

TANGO IN GREECE!
Ski & Rock are doing another excellent Dance / Activity Holiday in Lesvos Greece in September 2008. I taught last year and had a fantastic time. Highly recommended.
The resort is based around a fantastic beach with excellent sailing and water sports activities and there are lessons and dancing everyday! The island is simply beautiful and you must rent a jeep and go exploring for at least a day.

OSWESTRY CLASSES CANCELLED!
Due to complications with The Venue, we have cancelled all future Tango classes in Oswestry.
Apologies to all our friends who have been faithfully coming for the last year and a half, hopefully you can make it to our classes in Chester on a Monday for lessons. Sharon shall now be running a weekly Practicá in Oswestry for you to practice.

New Oswestry Práctica
From the 7th May 2008, Sharon will be running a weekly Práctica in Oswestry at the Scout Hut in Gobowen. Every Wednesday 6pm to 10pm.

OUR BIG DAY - Saturday 19th April 2008
It is with great delight that I can now let you know that Alex and I have finalised the details of our wedding and we would both be very happy if you could come and celebrate with us.

The Ceremony will probably be a quiet affair and anyone can join us for that if they like, the room is limited to 50 people though. The Reception/Milonga in the evening will be open to all our friends, family and fellow dancers. If the weather is nice we will be opening up the outside of the Groves and have an Argentinian BBQ going. We are also hoping to have some live music for you as well.

Chester Tango Demonstration
We've been invited to take part in the Chester Food and Drink Festival!
If you would like to come along and dance with us, it's on Easter Monday 24th March 2008 at 3pm at Chester Racecourse.
Just tell them at the entrance that you are dancing with Chester Tango and they will let you in for free.

A Weekend with Eduardo (El Gaucho) Villegas and Natacha Proberaj
Aren't we lucky! El Gaucho is back again and this time with his new dancing partner Natacha.
On Saturday 8th March (8pm) they will be doing a performance at the Llangollen Royal-Pavilion - Not to be missed. It will be performed in the round with Manchester's Tango band Frambuesas con Nata providing the music. In between the performances, all the dancers from the audience will also be invited to take to the stage and dance as well. Book your tickets early! There will be a beginners Tango workshop preceding the Show at 3pm.
On Sunday 9th March, we will be hosting three workshops with Eduardo and Natacha at our new Venue - The Venue. 1pm Beginners Tango / 2:30pm Chacarera (not to be missed!) / 4pm Intermediate Tango. Please contact Anthony to book early.

Oswestry Tango is Moving - Tango@The Venue
As from the 6th of February 2008, The Oswestry Tango Club will be moving from the Scout Hut. Our new home will be "The Venue" at Park Hall in Oswestry. Details and a map are on the Classes page.

New Tango Workshops in Bangor, North Wales!
Starting from February, Anthony and Sharon will be teaching Tango Workshops in Bangor on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

The Gang Performing at Moreton Hall
Anthony, Sharon, Ron and Eve danced on stage at Moreton Hall for a 40th Anniversary and Fund Raising Show for a Primary School in Oswestry. We all had great fun and really enjoyed ourselves. The audience really like it and we met loads of really nice people.

Dancing outside in Chester City Centre!
As part of an advertising Campaign, Chester Tango has been asked to get a group of dancers together to dance in Chester (outside) on Saturday 1st December 11am to 1pm. All are welcome and there will be photographers and local TV coverage, which will be a great boost to developing the awareness of Tango and hopefully bring in new people. For further information talk to Anthony or Sharon.

Christmas Eve Milonga!
Join Santa and the little Tango Elves for a Christmas treat to remember. We've got the Groves Bar & Bistro in Chester for Christmas Eve and will be making the most of it! Guest DJ and a live Tango Orchestra are in the works. Details and booking details to follow shortly!

Anthony's Getting Married!
Whilst away teaching Tango in Greece for two weeks, I met the girl of my dreams and proposed! She said YES! No dates set yet, so stayed tuned for the big celebration party - Coming soon!

New Venue for Chester
From the 12 November 2007 we will be moving from Stanley Palace to The Groves Bistro & Bar, Souters Lane, Off Pepper Street, Chester CH1 1SD. A fantastic venue for our classes and for socialising afterwards!

Anthony wins an Oswestry Arts Council Bursary!
A few months ago the Oswestry Arts Council asked me to apply for their Oswestry Arts Grant to support local artists and today I received a cheque for £150. I shall put the money to good use to pay for Tango Teaching Workshops.

Friday Night Salon @ Stanley Palace CANCELLED
In November we are planning to start a regular Salon for all our students and all Tangueros to come an dance. After all, what's the point of all those lessons without somewhere to actually go and dance?
We've decided it's a bit too soon to start a regular Salon and with the change of venue, it becomes more complicated. Plans are being hatched for an alternative though!

First Anniversary BIRTHDAY PARTY!
As we've been going for exactly one year, we're going to have a BIG Anniversary Party Milonga! Entrance is free and there will be loads of dancing, cake and champagne! The Milonga will be at the Scout Hut in Gobowen from 8pm. Flyer on the Events page

The Oswestry Show
We've been invited to take part in this years County Show in Oswestry. As yet we don't know what we'll be doing, but we are pencilled in to be dancing in the Village Green Area, which is sponsored the Shropshire Star.

Oswestry Food & Drink Festival
The Oswestry Tango Club was invited to join in the weekend festivities and was a group of us joined in with the Local Salsa Club to put on a demonstration of dancing in the Main Square. Luckily the weather was excellent and it went down really well.

Dancing in the Street with Poppin Earthlink!
Anthony and Sharon will be doing a little performance outside the Earthlink Shop in Oswald Street, Oswestry and will hold a little introductory Tango workshop for anyone that passes by. Starts 1:30 till 2pm. There will be demonstrations of Salsa and Jive and other dances throughout the afternoon. Feel free to stop by and join in the fun. We'll be throwing in some playful moves!
